Our offices are based in Monaghan, however we offer our services right across Ireland.

What are your opening hours?

Opening hours are by appointment only from 9-5 Monday to Friday.

Are you authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland?

Eugene O’Doherty Financial Services is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland (C1943) as an insurance intermediary registered under the European Communities (Insurance Mediation Regulations, 2005 and as an Investment Intermediary authorised under the Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995. Should you wish to obtain a copy of our regulatory authorisations, please do get in contact and we will be happy to send you any information you require. Our credentials are also available to view on the centralbank.ie website.

What happens in our first consultation?

Depending on your requirements, in your first consultation we will discuss any financial goals or concerns you may have and Eugene will offer advice and guidance on how to best achieve these goals and overcome any concerns.

What is a life assurance/insurance policy?

A life insurance policy will provide a lump sum payment to your loved ones after you die.

What are the benefits of a life insurance policy?

A life insurance/assurance policy will provide an income for your loved ones after you are deceased, can clear any loans or debts and can continue to support the educational needs of your family in the case of an untimely death.

What is a personal pension plan?

A personal pension plan is a long-term savings plan designed to provide you with a comfortable income after you retire. This is vital for those who may not have access to a pension plan through the workplace or for those who are self-employed.

At what age can I access my personal pension plan?

You can access your personal pension plan at the age of 60.

Are there tax advantages with a personal pension plan?

Yes, for every €1 you pay into a personal pension plan you can claim back a percentage. This percentage is directly associated with the tax band you are on within your employment, so if you are currently paying 40% tax then you can claim .40c of every €1 back.

How much is the state pension?

Without a personal pension plan you will have to live on a state pension of just €238.30 per week.

What is a PRSA?

A PRSA is a private pension plan that is offered by a range of financial organisations such as banks and insurance companies.

What is an executive pension?

An executive pension is a pension scheme provided to executives or key employees within a company.

What do you charge?

Advisory fees are charged at €100 per hour plus VAT.

Are there any extra fees?

If any additional fees are payable, we will notify you in advance and agree on a scale of fees. No fees will be added at any time without your prior agreement.
